On October 7, 2024, a workshop titled "Smart Farming: AI-Driven Solutions" was held at Anna University in Chennai. This event brought together distinguished experts to explore the transformative impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on agriculture. The workshop commenced with a welcome address delivered by Dr D. Arivudainambi, followed by an inaugural speech from Dr R. Velraj, who emphasized the importance of technology-driven strategies for sustainable agricultural practices.

The agenda included several critical sessions, featuring a presentation by Dr. P. Rodney Fernando on the application of AI and machine learning for the optimization of crop yields and resource management. Additionally, Ms. Evanjalin Delina Jesudasan Prince provided valuable insights into remote sensing and data analytics for effective monitoring of crop health, while Dr. R. Akila addressed the role of AI in plant disease diagnostics.

In the afternoon, participants engaged in a tour of the Drone Lab at Anna University, where they observed live demonstrations of drones utilized for various agricultural applications. This experience highlighted the practical benefits of AI and automation in enhancing farming practices.
