The International Conference on Digital Technologies for Sustainable Agriculture (ICDTSA 2025) was held from May 22 to 23, 2025, at the University of Jaffna, Sri Lanka. Organised by the Faculty of Engineering, the event brought together researchers, academics, and industry leaders to explore innovations in digital technologies that drive sustainable agricultural transformation. The conference opened with traditional rituals, including the lighting of the ceremonial oil lamp and a welcome dance, followed by a series of formal addresses by academic leaders. Dr. A. Kaneswaran, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, welcomed the delegates, while Prof. S. Srisatkunarajah, Vice-Chancellor and General Chair of the conference, delivered the opening remarks and released the conference proceedings.

Day one featured keynote speeches by Prof. D.A.N. Dharmasena from the University of Peradeniya and Prof. Gulistan Raja from UET Taxila, who shared valuable insights into agricultural engineering and electronic innovations. The technical sessions showcased ongoing research and applications in smart agriculture, with invited speaker Mr. Edke Rajesh Ram, CEO of Thousand Petals Polyhouses Pvt Ltd, discussing advancements in protected cultivation.

The second day included compelling talks by Ms. F. Jesmin Jeyamalar, MD of Nature Wins Pvt Ltd, and Mr. Miller Alexander Rajendran, CEO of SenzAgro Technologies, who shared entrepreneurial perspectives on technology-enabled agribusiness models. The conference concluded with a field visit, giving participants the opportunity to experience real-world applications of the innovations discussed. Through technical sessions, keynote addresses, and industry interaction, ICDTSA 2025 served as a meaningful platform to foster collaboration and promote sustainable practices through digital transformation in agriculture.
